Muscle building techniques and myths
60Myths and muscle building part 1
So you are probably thinking this is another muscle building "Genius". Well i am here to say that I am no "Genius" but I do know how to build, strengthen, and keep muscle on. I will give you a few techniques that are not very drastic but will greatly help you on your mission to get stronger or just be healthy and lean, and blow a couple myths out of the water so that you may see the light and not be discouraged.
Myth number 1: Not everybody has a six pack
BULL!!!! Think about it now, if people did not have a six pack, everybody would be slumping over because we could not support ourselves, therefore our back muscles would have to be very strong in order to keep ourselves from falling over. Now whether we see it or not , is a different story. The core of male and females muscles are very different. While the males core muscle are placed outside the the fat on the stomach, the girls have fat outside the muscle.
Myth number 2.) If I am not skinny I am not in shape
BULL!!! No matter how skinny you are you can be in the worst shape of your life! It is all in exercising every other day. Just because someone is skinny doesn't mean they are magically in shape. I used to think that. I would think, " HOLY COW!" This person is fit because they have a six pack and have no ounce of fat on them! There is no good in beating a dead horse so I will stop now, I think you get my point.
Myth number 3.) I will never get in shape it is impossible not matter how hard I try!
BULL!!! When you start losing MENTAL focus everything else will fall apart! You have to keep a positive attitude. If you don't you will not and never get in shape because you already have a mindset of, " I can't lose weight and get in shape, so I will just give up." So, you need to keep an attitude that says, " I will give my best and even if it doesn't seem like I am getting anywhere, I know that I am getting better."
So those are just a couple myths that you might have heard, or you have told yourself. I will be adding more myths and busting them as I write along in my next columns . Don't beat yourself up over the last myth about having mental focus. This is not a beat down but a help saying it is okay.just change your mindset now! You still have time, go for it! Change your story that you are living and make something of yourself.
So, here are some techniques that will help when you are weight lifting and exercising!
1.) Keep your core tight
At first you may think, "What the heck does that do?" Well it does everything! What this action does is help you keep your back stabilized and not only helps tone your core but strengthens your core and your back as well. Tighten your core when you are weight lifting, running, or anaerobic exercise.
2.) Before you squat or leg press, loosen up by lifting a very light weight about ten times.
What this action does is help loosen up your legs and it helps you squat more or leg press more. This is good if you are playing sports such as football, volleyball, track, or any sport that involves the use of your legs for long periods of time. I personally know this by experience. I have tried it on myself and I know that it works.
3.) STRETCH!!!!!!!
If you want your muscle to grow you must stretch! Stretch before and after you work out. What this does is helps loosen up your muscles all over your body so that you can have not only big muscle but lean muscle. This is vital for muscle growth, imagine this imagery for a second.....so you have a big fluffy pillow and you have an extremely small pillowcase, you get the big fluffy pillow and you try and stuff it into the ridiculously small sleeping bag. You eventually get it in there, but it takes a really really really long time and requires way to much effort than you need. The same is with muscle, if you don't stretch out your muscle it will be very difficult for your muscles to grow. Your muscle will be trying to grow out of the "Pillowcase" It is in, and it will be hard for it to grow. So, you need to stretch if you want to get big muscle or stronger muscles faster.
So, I hope this is helpful, I will be posting more in the very near future, God Bless.
